Affordable Housing Expansion: McHenry Project Among Statewide LIHTC Recipients

A new affordable housing project, McHenry Senior Commons, has been awarded federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA). This initiative is part of a $23.8 million allocation aimed at developing and preserving affordable housing across Illinois. McHenry Senior Commons will provide much-needed housing for low- to moderate-income seniors, offering them stable and affordable living options. This project is one of 16 developments across the state funded under the 2024-2025 Qualified Allocation Plan, which focuses on supporting vulnerable populations and promoting sustainable housing solutions.
